For this ongoing series I’m focusing on what ‘Blue’ means to me. Blue is thought of as a calming, healing color but I’d argue that isn’t always the case. There is a depth to blue, think of what sailors used to call “fathomless”. What I’d like to capture in this series is blue as a powerful, unstoppable force.

In my ‘Twister’ drawings the conflict is created between freezing and tropical waters. In ‘Waters over the Dam’, nature is clearly the winner.

Blue can be both beautiful and terrifying.
